The crowds on the beaches are no longer. The weekends will still be busy for the most part. The week days give way to peace and quiet along the Emerald Coast. Business will kick in gear once again for the summer in a few weeks! Cobia fishing is good! There have been lots of reports with cobia fishing. The great weather of the past week has given way to some great fishing conditions! Cobia fishermen can be seen going up and down the Emerald Coast looking for tasty fish. Beachgoers can observe the action from the beach with a pair of binoculars! Seabreeze Jazz Festival is back! The Seabreeze Jazz Festival celebrates its 12th year of hosting a great event on the Emerald Coast. The festival was held on 30-A. Pier Park is now the venue for the event that has grown in popularity. This year Nick Colionne, Brian Simpson, Kim Waters, Roman Street and many more will be performing April 16-18 at Pier Park on Panama City Beach. Local real estate is up! More and more for sale signs are popping up in front yards. The buyers market should last for the year. Single-family home sales are up in Okaloosa County by 31 percent. Condo sales in Okaloosa County are up 75 percent. Walton County has also seen an improvement with single-family home sales up 9 percent and condo sales up 82.35 percent compared to 2009. Round about coming to Commons Drive. During high traffic times on Hwy 98 many drivers take Commons Drive to bypass congestion. Where Commons Drive and Matthew Boulevard intesect will be the site of a new round about. Traffic gets hectic at the intersection and a round about should help the flow of traffic. Cooking classes on the Emerald Coast! The Culinary Gallery on Hwy 98W in Santa Rosa Beach offers cooking classes for adults, children, private parties and catering. Culinary Gallery Chef/owner Scott Nelson has been in the culinary world for 23 years. Nelson's cooking classes teach students how to cook and prepare foods with confidence.
